Hey you guys should have shot silhouette with us in Alaska for 16 years. I couldn't stand that promise of 63 so i went out to the range and did a little shooting. Really nice afternoon lite breeze t-shirt. I thought of you guys all. It showed 66 on the way home. When summer comes you'll forget it all.

Not gonna say where I am but right now it is 24 degrees. The local weather man said (Just this morning) that it was going to be cold and dry. Well, he got the cold right, but when I walked out of Will III's door, I found that moisture on the walk was frozen solid. I slid on down to the Suburban and it was covered in a solid sheet of ice. Since we couldn't do what we wanted to do this weekend, I was hoping for a big day in town. Gun shops, bike shops and a visit to my favorite book store. Forget all that. At least we have food in the house and electricity.
Since I can't do anything else, and I do like snow, I hope the weather fellow was wrong and we get a bunch of snow tonight. What else is there to do for a southern boy and a southern girl to do but build a snow man.

When Bev and i shot in Alaska our home range was in Birchwood, just north of Anchorage. Kenai had a silhouette range for several years, a NRA club held matches on Fort Richardson. Some of the very first matches in the late 70's were held in Glennallen. We hauled BB targets to Fairbanks once for a match. Lots of old memories, all good of course.

Will, you could do what the creative folks do around here. They build Snow Women. After all that is done you could go get a warm drink and------ watch television. rp

Mugs, Were you in any of the pictures in the Shooting Steel or the Gun Digest Silhouette book when they had pictures of shooters in AK? Sounds like you have been around since the early silhouette days. Had to be pretty tough and want to shoot to brave some of the snow I saw in some of those pictures.

Thought about that but since both of us (Brenda Lea and me) will be building said
"snow person" I think it would be best to let he choose. She chooses the gender of the snow people and I choose the caliber of the next gun

I don't think i made into any of those pictures. I missed the first couple of years of IHMSA, i shot my first match in March of 79, Bev started the next year. You just dressed for the cold and had fun.
