First President - I think his first name was Lee but can't place the last name. He was big in early practical shooting.

I was thinking of Lee Jurras but he just organized the first handgun silhouette match. The Gun Digest book of Elgins said John Adams was appointed after the first handgun match in TX but I don't know if that meant he was the first President. I guess I will have to dig some more.

Yes Al probably saved our sport after Elgin passed. That was pure dedication to silhouettes that made him do that. When you think back of the IHMSA past there were several key players in the early days that kept the sport going. I'm just glad we had those people back then (and now) to keep IHMSA alive. My thanks goes out to the past, AND present people who work hard so we can all shoot.
