Help Needed

Post by 35isit »

2026 will be the 50th anniversary International/National Championship. I'm trying to get a chronological order of them. I need the place and year. So, if you know for sure of one or more, post them here.

I know reasonably sure TUSCO in Ohio was 02,04,06,08 and 10. ACS will be 24, and 26. Terre Haute will be 23 and 25. But there is Fortville In, OKC, Fort Stockton Tx, Idaho Falls, Los Angeles, Arizona and Oak Ridge.

Please help.

hi,
i have pins from all the years since the first in 1976 except three years when there were no pins.
i can look at all of them and write down where the matches took place, at least the states they were in.
email me at <therose7@earthlink.net> and i will email the list to you.
how quickly do you need this?
do you need it right away, or do i have a couple of days?

recently i acquired a plaque from the very first handgun silhouette match in 1975 before ihmsa. i can list that, too.

Thanks Eric: That will be great. Anytime in the next couple weeks. I'm working on some special things for the 2026 Championship.

I got this list from going through the IHMSA 40 years flash drive. goes from 1977 to 2024. I was looking for other things and made the list.

1982 Fortville IN. Indiana Gun Club Big Bore only at that time. Record number of entries I believe still stands. Over 1400 entries.

I had 1987 and 1993 for Oakridge.

Correction on the Fortville IN entries, that should be 1142 entries.

Fortville is correct for 1982. But the match writeup for that match showed 1525 entries, which is the record entries that I know of.

Dan I agree with you on that. Page 373 lower right corner of Shooting Steel has 1525 as well. The last number I read in another book but thought that seemed low. Thanks for correction.
