New kid on the block, my name is Mikel.

This is a budget deal and so I am runnin' what I brung...

EAA/Tangfoli Witness .45ACP/.22LR

2 months ago I did a shoot through with Paloma Ferrea out at Ben Avery, then the following weekend did 2 rounds for points in FP IS/AS using the .22LR conversion. Had a blast!

I know the Witness is not the best choice, but with my budget as it is, it will do for now. It lets me get out there and get back into shooting. It also let's me cope and learn to adjust to my right elbow, which only has a 95% extension thanks to 21 pins screws and 2 plates. :D

Yes, I DO still ride motorcycles :)

This month had me pretty tied up, but looking to see if I can hit the events next month.

Welcome Mikel,

Running with what you brung is certainly not a bad thing. Many IHMSA shooters focus on only a few events. Some I know shoot Standing events while others focus on Field Pistol. Your only true opponent is yourself. Simply try to improve each match.

We run a Field Pistol side match here in SW Oregon we call Standard Handgun. Basically, it is any revolver/semi-auto with a barrel of 6.5" or less chambered in a standard handgun round shot without adjusting sights. The winning score this year was 25. So, what you are running can certainly shoot good scores with practice.

Let us know how it goes!

I'm Bernard Owens, Bernie or Ben to my friends.

I just dropped a note to Lorene at HQ to ask about re-joining after a long absence. I actually started up again with lavish intentions some years ago, went to my first match, and promptly had a heart attack that sidelined me for a while and changed my priorities.

Recently, I got "early retired" out of a job I loved so, after spending a few months sleeping late and getting nothing done, I've decided to lose some weight and get out of the house. I can't think of a better excuse for getting out of the house than shooting things that go "Clang!" and then fall down.

It'll take a few months to get my stuff together and working again, but I hope to see the folks at PSC, CTSA, and Greenwood again in a few months.

Aaron Here.

I shot as a part of a club out here in South Dakota. We shot smallbore, field, and big bore. Rotating each week.

I upgraded to a contender this year and have been enjoying the sport a lot!

I am Gregg Clement of S/E NE and have decided to give IHMSA another shot after 20 yrs off. My old IHMSA no is 17040. Can I keep it?
I have had a lot go on since I joined back in 1979(?). Work, military, ranch, kids, more work, etc, etc. But I am going to rejoin and find a range to bang long distance steel. And I still have several IHMSA handgun and targets. I even have a decent place or two on the property to build a range.

I looked over the IHMSA rules a little. Handgun weight limits have definately changed!!!! WOW!!!! :-\

BTW: I also opened a new gun shop to spend my retirement years [and my retirement money] on.
