Had a great time, it's been ages since I shot free standing targets! Never mind it was the first time for the big 'uns.
Seems my scope on the high rise mount wan't quite plumbed and bobbed correctly. Not too big a deal for FPAS but I think it explains much of the R-L dramas further out. Was alternatively using the mount and the crosshairs to get squared up, experimenting on the fly as it were. Got home and was doing post match inspection when the rotation was finally discerned. May leave it until after the state FPAs match, as it may take longer to sort than I got! Probably ditch the Millett rings at the same time. (The upside: Very happy the pokey FP load held elevation as well as it did, even at the ram line. Much more consistant than the old load!)
Or, may just try different guns for a while and see what's appealing. There's a spare S&W 29-3 10 5/8" revolver gathering dust for one...That way, no rush to get the .44 ready again. (Have yet to sort the dramas with the reddot change on the .45 Colt!)
Thanks for the warm welcome!
