Re: Secrets of the Taco Hold?
I too watched many of the best local standing shooters. You obviously can't shoot all the styles, so I would watch and try and see what worked for me.
..........
Changing styles sometimes takes time to see improvement. Many years ago, I shot a Ruger standing. I watched Pennsylvania great Bill ...

Update on my 7 TCU barrel
I dug out the old rusted 7 TCU barrel the outside wasn't as bad as I though, but the bore still looked scary. Figured I got noting to lose but time and I soaked the bore with Kroil and brushed it out really good.... lots of ugly brown stuff dripped from the muzzle. Rinsed it with oil and punched it ...

Re: Does anyone have q copy of the IHMSA Loading Manual
Ike, Thanks for the data!
The 300 Savage info looks to be standard book data for a rifle. Those max loads will be at or over max for a Contender frame.... the search continues. :((
I found a box with ten loaded 7 TCU rounds left over from the 1990's. The label says 26.5 gr of WW748 with 150gr flat ...

Re: Does anyone have q copy of the IHMSA Loading Manual
Hi Ike,
Yes, it what I am referring to. Just about the only place that I know that for certain has the load data I'm looking for. Actually would like to have data for all of the above bullet weights. I have used all of the bullet weights that you've listed for each caliber as well as 130gr for the ...

Does anyone have q copy of the IHMSA Loading Manual
Does anyone have a copy of the IHMSA Loading Manual and would be so kind as to provide the information for 7TCU and 300 Savage? I've called several powder companies and they won't\cannot even discuss it since it's not listed in their current manual. Had one person tell me that he cannot even discuss ...

Re: Thinking about clanging steel again after a quarter century?
Actually, I have a merit aperture in my bullseye box but the problem is the suction cup is toasted. I've thought about devising a way to attach it to my old Knobloch shooting frames, maybe with a lens to help focus the front sight. I've dealt with bad eyes all my life. I've been meaning to give Art ...

Re: Thinking about clanging steel again after a quarter century?
Hi Jim,
Tres Bandito sounds interesting. Is it a standing or freestyle match? How are the targets divided among the three shooters or is it up to them to figure out which shooter engages which targets? Is the winner of each head to head the team that drops all 40 targets plus the mastodon first? I ...

Re: Thinking about clanging steel again after a quarter century?
Steve, do you remember what your old number was? We do not see it on the database which doesn't necessarily mean it's not there.
Hey Doug, Thanks for looking. I've moved 4 times since I last had an IHMSA membership probably 25 years ago. There's a chance that I may still have an old IHMSA News ...

Re: Introduce yourself
Actually my third post here. Joined the site about 5 years go to make a comment and went dormant again. I shot in the late 80's and early 90's in Western Pa. I'm wanting to shoot again if I can find some clubs that are within a couple hours. Don't remember my classes I think I think I was AAA in ...
