Re: Caliber for 1/2 scale

I may be the odd man out, but I use a .243 for both BBUAS and HSUAS. If it had open sights on it, I'd use it for U...(Savage Striker). The thing is a laser beam at 2,300 fps. Only 4 clicks difference between chickens and rams... Boy do the targets drop fast... BWAHAHAHA (no target damage yet ...

Caliber for 1/2 scale

What is a good caliber for half scale without going to a custom barrel? Just looking to start cheap on it with either contender or encore.

Thanks

Re: No where to shoot !!

I understand where you are coming from also. I live in the Atlanta area and most of the places that i could find that had a enough distance wanted too much money for membership (I come from the poor shooters side of the track) so the place that I practice at is only 100 yds and I am/will be guessing ...

First time back in eons

Ok, I shot my first match since the 80's. Found out I need contacts to be able to shoot. Couldn't obtain a good sight picture with my glasses. SOOooooooooooo.... I was really really bad. :(( Already got a eye appt. for contacts. :))
Sent the Encore out for a trigger job already to a smith ...

shooting positions

Seeing as how it's been 20+ years since I last shot, I notice that there are more shooting positions other than the creedmore. So what are they and what do they look like when in position?
I see you talking about the flop. So what is it and how do you look (position wise) when in that position ...

Re: 7 TCU Loads

Well I am trying some AA 2460 on some 130s right now. Then I'll work on some 150s.

Probably not going to matter anyway, I'll be lucky to get a 10 overall my first time out since I've not shot in such a long time and I'm kind of limited on my shooting range for distance. :)

Forming 7TCU brass

Sorry, but got another question.

I am trying to get my 7TCU brass ready to load. I couldn't find any good instructions on setting the die for initial forming of this case. How much do I need to back the FL die off for the initial sizing? Don't want to push the shoulder back too far. Also the couple ...

Re: Introduce yourself

Brian Jacobs

Back in the late 80s I shot in Indiana for about 3 years then pretty much stopped shooting all together. Moved to Ga. a few years ago and am ready to get back into shooting again. Biggest problem I've found is trying to find a range near Marietta to shoot at to get back into shooting ...

Re: Scopes for unlimited

Well I'm on the short side of 5-8 and I'm going to be shooting a TC in creedmore. I've never tried any other position to shoot from. Back when I was shooting, that's the only position I saw anyone shoot from.
I've been looking at the nikon Encore 2.5X8 and the Elite. Just thinking the Elite might be ...

Re: 7 TCU Loads

Thanks for all your replies. I will use them as something to work up to in my gun. It's been so long since I have reloaded, it's going to be like learning this stuff all over again.
