Selling Silhouette Handguns- Remove

Hi, I need a little help with selling a few things that I haven't used in a while.

The Ruger Blackhawk is in 357 Maximum, with a 10.5" barrel. I purchased this from a former silhouette shooter many years ago.
It is a tack driver from what I was told, but have not been able to use it much, only maybe 2 matches at most.
Yes, that is a Bomar rear sight and a Ken light front sight.
I have seen these guns go for around $950 to as much as $1525, without these types of sights.

My problem is, do I sell the gun on auction with the factory sights or do I try and sell it as a package deal?
I'm thinking as a packaged around $1,200.

Please let me know what you all think and, of course, if anyone has any interest in buying them.

I will need to ship to a FFL dealer, I live in California.

Thanks, Dennis Ostler

This may help a little.

This post was last week on the Ruger forum. Maximums sell well there. This one I'm willing to bet is much cleaner in the fact that it wasn't a silhouette gun. I'd guess yours has some flame cutting. (that shouldn't scare knowledgeable shooters) The seller is known collector and sells quality stuff. I have bought from him a few times.

****
These are pretty hard to find these days due to the collector market, the caliber conversion folks due to the extended cylinder frame, and the recall Ruger did on these guns due to flame cutting of the top strap when using Remington's hotrod loads back in the day. And Coogs. Model BNM10 Blackhawk in .357 Maximum. These were made in 2 barrel lengths, 7.5" and this desirable 10.5" model. These guns feature a steel Super Blackhawk grip frame. Condition is outstanding with just a minor turn line and no evidence of flame cutting. Capable of firing .357 Magnum, .38 Special, as well as .357 Maximum.

SPF $1095 shipped FFL to FFL

I checked Steve, not the number he is looking for.

Dan in mi, no flame cutting, but to sell it on the Ruger forum, I will change the sights to factory and need to sell them on this forum.

what do you guys think?

Thanks, Dennis

Dennis,
Last Bomar/Lansing sights I bought for my Ruger Super Blackhawk I paid $150.
They are hard to find these days.

Separating them would probably be your best option.

The Maxi market (Ruger guys) just wants the gun and sight market (IHMSA guys) just want the sights.

I watched a 7TCU on Ebay with Bomars sit untouched for weeks at $255. It didn't move until the seller offered 25% off to those watching the auction. I'm betting all the watchers were like me. Didn't want the barrel but couldn't justify the price for just the sights. At that price you could sell barrel dirt cheap and make out.

Buckmark Sold pending funds.

Thanks for the advice, I think I will sell the gun and sights separately. Maybe get $200 plus shipping for sights.

I will post a picture of a target that came with the gun, one last time before separating the two.

Thanks, Dennis

Dan in mi, good to know about the tc barrel and sights. I’m going to be in that exact spot in the near future. 15” 6.5 tcu bulberry barrel and Bomar/ Ken light front sight. Might be better to sell them like old junk cars. Worth more as pieces than a whole.

Thanks, Dennis

Here is a test target from the old guy I bought it from.
I can't remember exactly, but it is either 50 or 100 meters open sight from the creedmoor position, I think it was at the 100 meter Pig line.

Also, the trigger has to be about 6-9 ounces, I will try and measure soon.

Thanks, Dennis

Putting up for auction in two months, Gun Broker.

I'll list Bomar sights here very soon.

Thanks, Dennis
