Well I went to my 1st. IHMSA shoot Saturday in Gainsville Ga. @ Cherokee Gun Club
Did I have blast but it started 2 weeks before I even got there.
It started when I e-mailed Randell Fussell an e-mail address I got from there web site . I ask him about the shoot. 6 e-mails and 50 questions later. I felt very good about what to bring how things work and how I needed to prepare. After I had Randell's fingers bleeding from all that typing my next victim for questions was RockinHRacin who posts here. Chris offered to let me be his Shooting partner for the day I could spot for him and he for me and that way he would be right beside me if I need help
I was a little worried that I mite mess Chris up but When he stepped to the line and shot a 40 my fears were gone .My third victim was Richard Pickering (also posts here) after watching me struggle he said if your gonna shoot that Hornet there no reason not to use the taco hold so I finish the round trying the Taco with him and his partner Eddy instructions and I could tell they new what they were talking about ,after the round Richard ask to see my gun after checking the Trigger he said you need to leave that 5 lb. Trigger at home cause it an't going get it here. Eddy told me he had 10 rounds of ammo left
come shoot his gun at the pigs and see if I could tell any different . Well 10 shots and 7 pigs fell
Yep a good trigger and a little Taco do make a different. OK maybe all range are like this, right now I don't know. But I do the people at Cherokee Gun Club are! I learned more in 2 weeks than I could have learned in 2 years on my own. I may never be a good shooter but these people have me headed in the right direction . And just think I never knew any of them before a couple weeks ago
