April 2015 Match Results - Ascension Silhouette

For the first time this year, we had good weather on match day and a decent turnout. Allen Gaskin came down from Mississippi to shoot with us today. Also on hand were Richard West, Robert Stevens, Jay Clark and David Heintz. My brother Philip continued to dominate UAS with another 40X40 using his Ruger Charger. Jay Clark did come close with a UAS 39X40, missing only one turkey. I am still struggling towards trying to get that first, elusive 40X40 on the Fifth Scale targets and came close today with a 39X40 on a re-entry, missing only the 6th Ram. This was with a new combination for me, an Anschutz Exemplar which I put together with a 2-6X Bushnell Elite just two days before this match. Philip shot another Practical Hunter Short Course 40X40 with his T/C MGM 22 Hornet. I tried my hand at Practical Hunter SC for the first time using only iron sights and managed a 34X40 with my Contender 22 Hornet. We did also have some NRA Cowboy Lever Action shooters with us today, but had only three guns on that side of the range. Thanks to Jay and David for staying late to help us pick up after the match.
