ASCENSION SILHOUETTE
GONZALES, LA
JANUARY 4. 2015
BY: CHARLIE BRAUD
A lot of factors held us to a very low turnout today. Hunting season is still open, and a cold front passage the night before with tornado watch and heavy rain were the largest considerations. On hand were only myself, brother Philip, and Region Two Director Allen Gaskin. There were areas of standing water on the range. The most notably example was that the pig targets had to be retrieved from under water to be reset. Philip shot his usual UAS 40X40 with his flop Ruger Charger. I managed a UASFS 38X40 with my High Standard Volquartsen. Allen shot Unlimited with his Anschutz which bore new sights requiring sighting in as he went. He did manage a 34X40 despite the disadvantage. He then re-entered it in UAS and scored a respectable a 38X40. These four were the only entries today. We look forward to a better turnout next month. See Y'all then.
