GONZALES, LA

BY: CHARLIE BRAUD
Today was our final match of the year before our State Championship match which is scheduled for the first weekend of October. In spite of that, attendance was a little soft with only 10 handgun entries and 5 rifle scores. Robert Stevens fired his best UAS score of the year missing a single chicken for a 39X40. Philip Braud, who has dominated UAS this year with his Ruger Charger, could only manage a pair of 39X40 scores, one in UAS and another on the Fifth Scale targets. Philip also tried the Practical Hunter Short Course using a Contender 22 Hornet with iron sights. He started with no established sight settings, adjusting as he went, and managed a respectable 34X40. Will Kirste and his wife and spotter Brenda were with us today as well.
