Hey Jim,
Glad I could help you both! I know you'll enjoy the case. I have 2 that I have been using for over 15 years. They are indeed bullet proof. In fact, the last time I flew I saw a fellow checking in a rifle using one. enjoy it!

Got the case today and what a tremendous value. Steve hit the description right on the head. It is not as heavy as a Bear Track case but is exactly what I was looking for. A slightly smaller case that will be a little easier to schlep through the airport.
It will be perfect for the two pistols and two additional barrels for the Hunter Pistol Nationals.
If they still have these on sale I highly recommend buying one !
Thanks again Steve ,for the tip.

jim and steve, got mine yesterday. I ordered one like jim's on closeout. got an e-mail from icc the next day saying there were out of the sale ones, but instead sent me one of the regular cases at the same price as the ones on closeout. couldn't be happier and I highly recommend their cases to everyone. allen

Just got back from the Hunter Pistol Nationals and wanted to report on the case.
The ICC case that I got on close out was just a touch smaller and a touch thinner than the Bear Track two layer silhouette case.
It performed admirably and was the exact ticket for what I was looking for. I flew Southwest Airlines and I have found them to be the most gun friendly. I have experience flying Delta, United, U S airways and would take Southwest anytime.
One aspect of the ICC case I did not anticipate was since it is thinner, I don't think people in the airport pick up onthe fact that it is a gun case. It looks a little like a thin metal large briefcase and I didn't get the stares and glares that I get sometimes when flying with the Bear Track case.
Durability was good and I ended up with no dents and only a very minor scrape to the finish. Space was a little tight for what I had in there. I got an extremely thorough check in Denver from TSA but they were very careful and courteous and put everything back precisely in the right spot.BTW I flew out of Columbus toAlbequerque, drove to Raton then up to Denver back to Columbus.
Only oddity was the ticket agent in Columbus insisted on taping the declaration to the outside of the case which is not correct. I discussed this with her but she was not to be swayed. FYI. The declaration card goes inside the case after you fill it out and sign it. And I have only once or twice ever had an agent check the chambers.
When flying with guns ALWAYS allow two hours to check in. Columbus Ohio took me 7 minutes. Denver Colorado took almost an hour. They were swamped and someone has to carry your case from the checkin to TSA. Once you declare firearms you are not allowed to touch the guns or the case once you lock it up. I'm sure some airports are different but that's the way it was in Denver. I had to follow the guy carrying my case halfway across ticketing area to TSA. Then I had to stand there with the key in case TSA wanted to take a look. Which they did. I handed over the key and they open it up about 15 feet from where you stand. They inspect, lock it back up and hand back your key.
All in all as stated before, the ICC is not as heavy as the Bear Track case but I highly recommend it to anyone and it will take the rigors of flying and traveling. It's a excellent value for the money and I am quite satisfied to have it in my stable of cases.

Jim,
Thanks for that update. While I have traveled by vehicle with my 2 ICC cases for years, I have not ever flown with them. I appreciate your insightful comments.
Yours,
Steve W.
