A leather leg guard that had another piece of leather sewn on top of it. The barrel of the gun rested right at the joined edge of the two pieces.

Re: Match entry requirement for Championship matches
you guys brought up something.
Since I am looking to see if I can go to the world championships this year, I noticed my card expires right in the middle of the championship.
I just hope they would not be to strict on this rule
oops, just noticed that they changed it. it now states the Previous 12 months and not the Card itself..

Re: Match entry requirement for Championship matches
Be sure to take 3 cards. Mine used to expire during the Internationals, The first scores went on the card ready to expire and the rest went on the new card.

He pulled his own card for that particular entry, only after he found out someone had taken some pictures of it. The leather was used for at least 2 other entries that were not pulled. I did not quit over some piece of leather. It was over the lack of anything being done by the board about the incident and the lack of any caring to answer my letters and emails about my concerns.tonedaddy wrote:And that is worth quitting over? I understand that the guys score was thrown out.

Remember, this was an IHMSA Board member and IHMSA Country President.

Re: Match entry requirement for Championship matches
This has sorta taken us off topic in this thread. But I remember the incident Dean is referring to. I was not at that match but the photo of the infraction was widely available.
The leg guard in question had a very dicernible shelf on which the gun was rested.

Re: Match entry requirement for Championship matches
I was present at that match, but did not see the infraction.
For anything to be done, a protest would have to have been made within an hour. As I remember it, it wasn't even discovered until someone posted some Int. pics on a forum, and someone noticed it in the pic.
There was a situation way back in IHMSA where a videotape was used to take away a bunch of records from a certain shooter. As far as I can tell, the rules were not followed in that situation as pertains to the one hour rule. Lot's of bitterness and hurt feelings in that one.
As I read the rules, there are no provisions for usings photos, videoes, in the protest. I guess it could be used if the protest was filed in the required time limit.
"B) A protest must provide the specific information upon which it is based. Official IHMSA
Protest / Outcome Forms shall be used to document all pertinent information relative to the
protest.
C) Protests regarding equipment, illegal positions, and non-score issues must be submitted
within one hour of the alleged violation.
D) Protests of scores must be submitted within twenty-four hours of the alleged violation.
E) Both the protester and the alleged violator may appear before the Jury to present their case,
proof, and / or witness testimony.
F) When the Jury has reached its decision, the protester and the alleged violator will be advised
of the decision by an IHMSA elected officer.
G) All protests will be brought to a conclusion prior to the awards ceremony. No protests or
complaints will be accepted after the awards ceremony has begun
The bold and underline are mine, not in the rule book

Just to be clear, it was not the U.S.A. country president.
