I had a Bond XP-100 in 7BR & a Rampro in 6BR. I sold them both & had a Nesika built in 6.5BR and am very pleased with it. The Sierra 142 bullets have a very high BC to buck crosswinds, and the 6.5 recoil is slightly less.

That said, both the 6.5 & 7 TC/U's shoot darned well. I would say that you will do well with either.

JMHO, but I'd look harder at the 7T/CU... I'd trust it more for BB and it's still plenty accurate for BBUAS...

I have shot both the 6.5 TCU and the 7 TCU and can offer this - they are BOTH capable. The versatility "edge" may go to the 7 TCU, but the 6.5 has a lot to offer. Many people will advise that you shoot 140 grain bullets in the 6.5, but I found the best accuracy for the 2 separate barrels I owned with the 129 grain Hornady. This bullet hits hard for its weight, and I never have lost a hit target with it. And, as Steve said - the 6.5 really bucks the wind well. My 6.5 TCU production gun was used in Fort Stockton once against the notorious cross wind, and it bucked it without any windage adjustment ! I cannot say that about my 7 TCU production gun. My advice would be this - use the one that appeals to you the most, because either one will do the job.I currently own a 6.5 TCU Super "14" barrel, and shoot the Hornady 129 Spire Point with 23 gr. of AA-2015. This TC is scoped, and recoil is comfortable. And, it is VERY accurate !

Six of one half dozen of the other. I shoot both 6.5TCU & 7TCU's as well as 6.5BR & 7BR. They all work equally well. The thing I have found is that the 6.5TCU 1-8" twist in a 10" barrel works well with the 120-130 bullets but I did not get as good of results with the heavier 140ish bullets. I have not had any problems with the lighter bullets and taking rams. Now with my Rampro 6.5BR 1-8" twist, it shoots the 142gr bullets just fine but that is out of a 15" barrel and pushing almost 400fps faster. I dont think you would have that problem in a 14" contender barrel as you will get a little more velocity than a 10". The 6.5TCU is a great round. My advise would be to get them both and have fun. :))
