Re: 500 meter silhouette rules
there was an error in it. I looked at the original submission and it was for a 37 to be INT class.

Check out this link http://www.riflesilhouette.com/Shooting ... anges.html which list ranges that host high power rifle silhouette matches.it may provide some leads to ranges that we can use. It has contact info for the clubs.high standard 40 wrote:I would one day like to try this course of fire but sadly there are no ranges anywhere near me that can accommodate a match.

Re: 500 meter silhouette rules
Thanks for that link Steve. The closest range to me is in Arkansas.....400 miles. Closest Texas range is 465 miles. There is one single HP rifle match a year in Louisiana and it is my belief that they don't allow handguns. Not trying to be negative here. This is just reality. I have been working with the local HP rifle silhouette shooters here in Louisiana for the last two years to establish a joint range. No suitable facility currently exists in Louisiana so we have to start from scratch. I don't know if I'll live long enough to see it done but I'm not giving up.

Riverbend Gun Club near Cumming GA has a Buffalo Rifle range that seems appropriate. Just need to figure out who to approach. And being me, that can be "dangerous". Apt to ruffle the wrong feathers!

Re: 500 meter silhouette rules
So....this event will be in July. I have found only one range within 400 miles that shoots High power silhouette, and the only match scheduled that I can attend is in mid March. Not the best weather conditions for precision long range with a gun that has no sight settings. So if I (meaning me and anyone else in this predicament) attend OKC in July, we're in International class because I'm unclassified, correct? Not complaining, I'm just doing this for fun, but want to clarify for anyone else in same situation.

Re: 500 meter silhouette rules
ok, As the rules state, 500 meter silhouette has Unlimited sighters (you can shoot as many sighters till you are ready) so, that is no problem ;)aggshooter wrote:So....this event will be in July. Since this is under a 2 year trial period, it will probably not be under the same rules for the championship. Also, since you have a longer firing period than regular silhouette, it will not be ran at the same time as the regular day. It will probably be only a 40 round match as No one has ever shot an 80 round 500 meter match. Not even the Highpower rifle shooters shoot 80 rounds in one day. They shoot 2 40 round matches over 2 days for a combined score.
I will know more when we have the entry forms done for OKC. But most likely you will be unclassified and then rated after you shoot.
