The Lyman mag 20 died

Post by Richard Pickering »

After many years of good and faithful service the Mag 20 suffered a fatal open element. The nice folks at Lyman offered a nice discount on their current offering, the Mag 25. Still at retail rates that is or exceeds 200$. I've investigated buying a replacement element but they go at about 150$. I dont know if that is a direct replacement. I'm not in desperate need but it would be nice to resurrect the mag 20. I have read that the Mag 25 is made in China. (What wont they have made in China ?). Yes, I could find one on ebay, and that remains a possibility. That would leave me with a dead Lyman. I'm open to ideas. Are we simply left to simply replacing the entire thing. Have any of you made a successful recovery ? Thank you.
