Since I just recently acquired about 700 Lbs of Linotype, guess I will be casting bullets again!
My Old lyman Mag20 pot is just too small to do this much into ingots, I will be modifying my Propane burner into a Pot.
I have an old Kerosene Plumbers pot in storage but this thing is too dangerous. It has a tendency to throw flaming kerosene all over the place!
If wondering, I will mainly be casting 44 and 45 bullets first, then cast up some 30 and 7mm bullets.
guess I am getting into Cast bullets again!

Dan, Save your lino for the 30 cal and 7mm bullets. Water quenched wheel weights will work great in your 44 and 45. I bought a Satan's Little Smelter based upon a burner from a turkey roaster to make ingots. Never used it yet. Check YouTube for this smelter and that may give you an idea for your burner.

You cannot get older type wheel weights in California anymore. the stuff I have gotten in last 10 years has Zinc in them and is completely useless for casting bullets. But since all that Linotype was Free, I am not going to worry about it Much
I am trading some of the linotype with a friend for some pure lead which when mixed, should be perfect for casting.

Re: guess I am getting into Cast bullets again!
You haven't shot IHMSA cast boolits until you used lino uncut. Using a LBT 4 cavity mold. They fall like rain. Probably 2% in 5000 are culled. Now that is in straight walled cases. In a 7 or 30 you may want to soften them up a little. I used to shoot .35s out of a supermag. It occasionally rang a ram. Our best theory was due to the hardness of the boolit and the speed I could attain. I would have an occasional boolit failure. I sure wish I had 700lbs. I never would melt another wheel weight for IHMSA.
