Wow, what a press!!!

Post by jcunclejoe »

I came across a press that I just had to have. It was stuffed on a shelf at the local metal recyclers With a price of $250
I did some serious haggling today and took it home for $80.

It is:
"The Tool"
BY R.D.P (Ralph D. Pickens of OH)

It is a progressive press made of about 60 lbs of cast iron and steel. It has a shovel handle to operate it.
There are a ton of feeder parts missing but it is so cool I had to have it.

Does anybody know anything about these monster presses?
It made it all the way to Oregon.

Thank you
Joe

That's something that I couldn't pass up either! Very nice. In a fixer-upper sort of way. Auto indexing?

Joe, there are several guys on the cast boolit forum that know all about old presses. They collect, repair and sell them. I'm sure someone there knows.

Perfect press for those hard to load cartridges like 25 auto.

Yes it is an auto index and that part works. No shell plate though.

I was thinking about adding all of the feeder stuff from a Lee Load Master. The Lee Pro-Auto disk powder measure is awesome and would be easy to install since it is case activated on the upstroke.

I found the thread on castboolits. I will need to read it 15 or 20 times to get a handle on it.

Thanks guys.
Joe
