300 Whisper/Blackout loads?

G'day to all.
My partner and I shoot Metallic Silhouette here in Australia.
We shoot TC 22 Hornet for FP P/AS and are happy with our loads.
We shoot a FA 357 for Revolver (obviously) and are happy with those loads.
Currently we shoot a TC Contender 357 and have done lots of load testing but have never been fully happy with the loads/results.
We have only been shooting for 14 months and reloading is a whole other variable.
We have 2 x 300 Whisper/Blackout barrels coming from MGM USA one for Production, the other for Standing to take over from the 357.
We are looking for info of what others use to help with our load development.
Any ideas on projectile type/shape/weight, powder type/grains, etc would be much appreciated?
Cheers.

A lot of people here used the whisper and I'm sure they can give better advice than I can
I've just switch from a 32-20 to the whisper this year but using about the same loads as the 32-20
I use 125gr. Chick , pigs and Turkeys and 165 for rams. Afriend of mine ( i think he is) uses 155 gr for all targets with a MV of about 1200
If your MGM is like mine with a 1-8 twist it will shoot about any bullet good
This should "prime the pump" to get you more detailed advise from others

My brother just got a 10" MGM barrel in this caliber. He has gotten 1" groups at 100 yards with 150 grain bullets and 2400 powder. Load testing was with a scope. I will be working on fitting a taco rail to this barrel today. The hole spacing is a bit off.

My brother is tied up for a few days but once he sees this he will pass on what he can.

Hi there, all that gear you picked up today from Cleavers should get you well and truly started.

Thanks to all (except Peter) for the info.

We are really looking forward to finding that perfect load and putting it to work in comps!

Cheers

As Hosspower stated, I did begin to work on loads for my MGM 300 whisper barrel with 1 in 8 twist. Jim Kesser and Richard Slaton pointed me into a good direction. I wanted a load to shoot taco in unlimited standing without punching myself. I am getting consistent 1" groups with 8-9 grains of Lil' Gun and same charges with 2400 launching 150 and 180 flat base soft point Hornady. Thanks to my brother I have the Ken Light taco rail on. Screws needed cut down. The big test will come this weekend at TUSCO. My plan is to take a good amount of ammo, do some testing, get some sight settings, and hopefully shoot a score with it.

We usually use ADI 2205 or AP50N for our BB loads, but we are open to trying other brands/types.

I don't think we get Lil' Gun in Australia (never heard of it except for this forum) but we can get 2400 so we will give it a try along with N110.

We will start with FBSP 130 gr (C,P,T) and 150 gr for Rams and see if they knock things down consistently.

Trying to keep the recoil as light as possible for my gf to shoot comfortably (she is much better than me).

Have a great shoot in TUSCO and we hope you score well.

Let us know how it works out.
