PACT is a real piece of excrement.

Post by Rodent »

I have the dispenser/scale combo. The scale has gotten to where it goes to sleep (freezes). It will also start jumping all over the place. I sent the scale and power supply to them in February(yes February). They finally sent it back to me last week. No change. It is doing the exact same thing and and is missing one of the feet as well !! Evidently, they are not the company that they once were. I called again today and they are having me send it back in to them. F them. I am going to get me that Lyman Gen 6.

My cat knocked a 20 year old RCBS balance beam scale off my loading bench. The cat survived but the scale did not. I returned the scale to RCBC with a note explaining what happened. They sent a new scale. Amazing.

I have a Lyman and I love it. But fans of all kinds must be kept to a minimum.

Ditto on the "no fans" rule when weighing powder. I shut off the heater (or AC), no fans, no open windows. Actually, when I dispense powder, I turn off everything in the gun room so I can hear the powder drop. If something doesn't sound right, I stop right there and check the case. Saved my butt several times......

I also tried several this past fall, returned a Pact 2x's for service scale would bounce for no reason. Shipped it back and asked for refund. Also tried a highly rated gem pro, tested it with test weights and sent it back also, what a POS.Ended up with a RCBS charge master, been super happy, can take it from loading room to range, works great, very fast.

I had a Pact setup for several years. I purchased it because of reviews and "made in America". From the get go it seemed like 2 separate parts that happen to be combined and sold as a system. The cord did not route to my liking, reinforcing the fact that it was not planned as a system from the ground up. It worked okay, but I sold it and bought an RCBS unit. Could not be happier.
