The bullets may be smaller but not the challenge.

Small Bore P and PAS

Post by kruzer »

Thinking about a Ruger Mark III Hunter and a Browning Buckmark Hunter, one for P and one for PAS.
Which for which? Iron for one and scope for the other??
Opinions please. Thanks Kruzer

I'd figure out which one I shoot iron sights with better and leave that one P. Put the scope on the other one.

P.S. I really didn't mean to make that sound as smart mouthed as I'm reading it back to myself... LOL

Why not one Contender frame and two barrels? That would be far more accurate!

I agree with Steve and Allen. The Ruger and Browning would not be able to deliver as good of groups as a Contender.

A couple of TC's is not out of the question, but I like the Ruger and the Browning. Can't they be good for something?

But if Kruzer already owns the Buckmark and the Mark III, the Contender looks awful expensive...I mean if we are "what if"ing it, why not get two MOAs?

If you can find a Buckmark Silhouette model, you can shoot just as good as any T/C . As a matter of fact, I gave up my T/C for the Buckmark. Do not let anyone convince you of anything different. If you want to go that route, then do it, by all means.

Mike, I'm gonna have to be the one to tell him different about a Buckmark Silhbouette. I had one of those and it wouldn't shoot worth beans. I know there are some that do shoot well but it is obviously possible to get a bad one. Mine would group no better than 5" at 100 yards with a 14X scope from sandbags.....and I tried every brand of 22 ammo I could find in it. I had a friend who had another one and it shot a little better than mine but not much. If yours shoots good I'm proud for you. I sold mine fast and moved on to a Contender.

I interpreted the original post to mean he was considering buying those guns he mentioned to use. In which case I would suggest the Contender instead. If he already has those guns, my advice would be the same as previously given. The most accurate with irons should stay that way and scope the other.
