Need 22LR Ammunition?

The bullets may be smaller but not the challenge.

WOW!!! I can shoot my centerfire cast bullet loads cheaper than some of the prices for Remington, Federal, CCI, Winchester and others "promo" ammo. Now that is SAD.

Using "wimp" loads with either SR4759 or AA5744. Getting so primers are going to be the most expensive part of the cartridge. Of course I am using powder bought before the big dry spell so prices were reasonable back then. Still some promo ammo on that site is now within $2 per box of Eley and that is ridiculous.

Craig,
Nope just 8 to 10 cents per round. Remember I said I bought a lot of components before the big price jump. Primer just penny and a half, powder just 6 cents and gas checks a penny and a half cents per round. Had a bunch of lino basically given to me years ago so I'm shooting for 10 cents per round or just under. Wish I had stocked up more years ago but don't want to be accused of being a hoarder!!!! I am appalled at the prices being asked today for Remington Thunderbolts and other promo ammo. Eley was always worth the $6 per box (if you could get it for that) but the promo ammo is not worth that much even today. Consumers are getting ripped off by both the .22 ammo manufacturers and the unscrupulous people taking advantage of the shortage. I'm all for free enterprise but some of these sellers have crossed the line of fair profit and are just plain greedy. I also think the manufacturers have figured out they can produce less at a higher profit margin and still make the same amount of profit but don't have to produce as much. Last I heard between three of the major U.S. manufacturers, over 10 million rounds (14 million was quoted but I'm being conservative) per day was being produced but where is it going? My dealer checks five major distributors daily and they don't get squat for .22 ammo so where is it going? Anyway, I'll keep shooting my cheapo cast bullet loads.
