Buckmark barrel

The bullets may be smaller but not the challenge.

Buckmark barrel

Post by geo01 »

I have a 5.5 Target model Browning Buckmark that I bought with the intentions of using for Smallbore matches. Can anyone tell me if there are any companies other than Browning that manufacture and sell custom 10 inch barrels for these handguns? I hope to use it as an Unlimited gun so hopefully it will fall within the rules with an aftermarket part.

Regards

I've been looking for other barrels myself for the past three years or so. To date, the only company that I have been able to find is Tactical Solutions, but the longest they make at the moment is 5.5 inch like you have.

I did call Browning to get a new set of sights for a silhouette model that I found on GunBroker (windage is froze) and they did have some barrels left but that has been at least two years ago. Picked up a replacement barrel for an ultimate silhouette model.

Other than finding a gunsmith that can take a barrel blank and work it over, I'm all out of ideas.

300wsprshtr, Since posting that question the gun gods have smiled on me a little. I spoke to a couple of guys down here at a shoot and they helped me out with getting a 10" barrel from the Gun Broker website. This barrel should be somewhere between you guys and Australia by now. Hanging out to get my hands on it. The second bit of great luck was receiving an e-mail from the same people a month ago saying that a friend of theirs has a complete 14" Buckmark up for sale. So, I am now waiting on the required paperwork to come through for that as well. Hopefully by the end of this month I should have my Buckmark decked out with a 10" barrel as well as the 14" model sitting in my safe :) .

geo01, You are going to love the Buckmarks. I had two of the 10" models and they didn't need the expensive ammo to shoot good groups.

Nice! Could only see part of the 10" but I'm sure it is just as nice as the 14". Now you have one for each hand!

Sorry about that, when I attached the photo it had a scroll bar up the side and I could scroll through the photo and see it all. Pretty much right that the 10" looks the same as the 14" but with a bit less barrel and a newer frame/action/receiver attached.
