Resetable airpistol and airrifle Silhouettes

I'm looking for a set of resetable airpistol and a set of resetable airrifle silhouettes like Mike Stimson used to make. I received an e-mail from Mike about a month ago saying he no longer makes them.

Anyone know of another source for these?

As a last resort I'll make them if my club can't buy them.

The link below is for 1/10 scale targets, $60 for a set of twenty. However, they are not resetable, so you would have to work out that part yourself. The guy also sells un-welded targets which might be a better choice for your project. If you look, you will see that the targets are available in either 1/8" or 3/16" thicknesses.

I have a set of these targets and the quality is excellent and delivery was fast.

Ditto.. I got the Swingers for backyard practice.

I will be going to the next Lawrenceburg shoot & while there plan on taking pictures/measurements of their auto reset targets. Once I have made a set of plans for my people to fabricate the targets I will be happy to share them.

Bob, We will be glad to let you take pictures, measure or whatever you need to do. I got a call from a long time shooter who asked if we would get them out for his daughter to shoot at the next match. So if she comes they will definately be out, but they are always available on match days if someone brings an air pistol. All they have to do is ask.

I have a set of 1/8" and 3/16" thick targets from Quality Targets and I've been working on a set of my own for the last month... I'm running our local club air silhouette matches and want to get a set for rifle and another set for pistol matches. Selling them to the club IMO could be a sensitive issue so I would rather buy them. If there is interest I'll post pictures of my version.

These are pictures of a Mike Stimson set:

Pictures of my first set of resettable airgun silhouettes. Except for the animals and hardware these were made with materials from my well stocked scrap pile.

These were made with 3/16" thick animals for air rifle. I have another set of 1/8" thick animals for my air pistol set. If this design proves to be durable I'll get started on them next month. I considered making the front and back plates tilt forward at an angle to deflect the pellets down but the pellets are so soft they just flatten out and land at the base.

UPDATE:
Shot these at 10 yards with a Daisy 717 @ 3fpe, CZ200s @ 12fpe, Air Arms S200 SL XTRA FAC @ 20fpe, 17 fpe HW98 .177 springer and a 18fpe HW98 .22 springer.

20 fpe at 10 yards... no damage

I've made several attempts at making a set with targets that doesn't bounce back up, and/or knock two or more targets down with a single shot. It's very difficult to make a set that will work perfectly with a wide range of airgun power levels. Preliminary tests are encouraging.

This is way more work than I expected it would be.

Face the front and back white plates with Lexan. Then you will not have to repaint. Lexan will hold up to pellet hits, acrylic will not.

Your set looks great!

Made 3 sets of resettable targets...

See my post about the Diablo Rod and Gun Club Airgun Silhouette Program.

One more set and a set of half size (20th scale) on the drawing board for next year.
