Richard,

This is a great opportunity to grow the sport locally. Contact your state director & have your range certified. You can then submit match scores to HQ for publication in the IHMSA News by paying $1/gun sanction fee. You also get match scorecards at no cost.

We have grown our local club here with AIR far more than any other discipline. It is a great and inexpensive way to go.

Congratulations on taking the lead to grow our membership!

Now there is a good idea. Why wait for the next Air match when you can hold your own in your own back yard. I hope you didn't hurt your back resetting those heavy rams. Way to go Richard. Nice to see pictures too!

Richard,
Enjoyed reading "First Match". Great photo's and quite a nice Standing score! You might be interested in the Region 4 Championship held in October. Jim Fields puts on quite a competitive air gun match.
I also shoot a couple of Daisy guns. They are quite accurate even with the stock sights. Great Standing and Production guns.
You will be surprised how much air sharpens your skills.
take care

Thanks all not sure were this will go. Have a few friends and family that have shown interest and will open it to Rifles because they have them. Work schedules is the main problem so the matches could be any day of the week morning or afternoon
and on a spur of the moment. I think my son-in-law could be locked in to shoot anytime we can. hope my son can shoot next time
Scores
I was very proud of my s-i-l's score he has maybe shot this Daisy /Red dot 200 times counting the 80 in the match which was his 1st.
last week he shot @ the targets 40 times 20 standing and 20 free style and to shoot a 33 UAS and a very impressing 22 US
was exciting for him and me!
My score
yep every few days I open the basement door and shoot the swingers once a week shoot a half match with targets
I shot sanding 1st. I was a little distracted calling the line and walking him though his 1st. match dropped 5 chicks but after that I did real well the 28 is my best standing score in anything to date and hopefully sooner or later this practice will show up in my SB,FP and BB standing scores
My production score I missed the 1st chick and 1 pig then was in the zone for the 38 happy happy happy
Lynn you and Jim could bring Tonedaddy stop by and pick up Jerry and come on down :ymparty: :ymparty:
Mugs we only shoot lead LOL so make sure next trip to pack your AP
Steve I will try not to let this over Shadow the WCC

Well this has been slow getting started between heath, work and family
but we had our 1st. match of the year today. Son in law (Will)stopped by on his way home from work. It was 6pm when we had "shooters to the line"
Will start shooting UAS with my 747/red dot. This Gun like most has a story. I bought it from a guy on a gun forum. He said he bought it thinking his daughter was going to shoot in a air pistol league after about 50 rounds she decided Boys were more fun. :x So the gun set in a safe for 10 years. After hearing his story in a open post. I PM ed him and asked if he would sell it. He pm ed me back and said the last time he tried to shoot it he could hear air leaking But If I still was interested He would sell it for $35 TMD!!
I was all over that like a cat covering up crap when I got it I'm not sure if It had ever been shot!! 2 drops of air and it was up and running :ymparty: added the Red dot and UAS./US
Will UAS Chicks 5, Pigs 7, Turkeys 5, and 10 for 10 on rams for a 27

I started Standing with my 747 William/Marten

Richard Standing chicks 6, pigs 6, turkeys 7, and rams 8 for a 27 \:D/
Will US chicks 4, pigs 4, turkeys 5, rams for 21

Richard production chicks 9, pigs 7, Turkeys 9 then the Daisy gave it up

This gun has a story too. it was the 1st. 747 I owned . I picked it up at the Reg.II in Jackson a couple years ago $65 I think, you could tell it had been shot and shot and shot, loose as a goose but still a shooter. It was not until I bought the Williams/Marten sight system form a member here that learned just how good these guns are. :-o
they are unreal accurate. Last fall after I had put a few thousand pellet down the tube I could tell it was losing it steam so I order a couple rebuild kits from Daisy
I finally got around to rebuilding it 1st. of this week. When I tore it down I could tell It needed way more that just O rings and valve. the piston and Tube/cylinder looked like it came out of a engine that made daily trips to the moon and back. We talking WORE OUT complete with grooves!!!. I put the kit in anyway hoping it would make it though the Ga. state next weekend. but after a couple hundred rounds it has no pop in its poop. I think I can do a little magic and still get though the Ga. shoot but then it's major over haul before the INT. ~o)
even with that we had fun :))
and I would like to thank ME for being match director and ME for calling the line and Me and Will for setting those heavy targets :ymapplause:
and Now I think I have a title

Good report, Richard ! We may have to do this (the backyard match idea) if we continue to lose places to shoot here in south Louisiana !
