Membership revoked

Post by forest341 »

I have heard a conversation about one of our long time members getting a letter telling him his membership in the IHMSA was revoked.
Is that true?
He must have killed a lot of people?
I have never heard of this happening before, except Cindy Smith, who stole most of our money.

Clarification:
Does anyone reading this above see anywhere I have asked for a name?
I didn't ask for a name.
All I asked was "Is that true?" that a long time member was told his membership in the IHMSA was revoked. True or false.
That is not digging into someone's privacy.
I thought I was very careful and very clear about that.

I don't know about lately, but yes, back in the '80's there were several members who's membership was revoked. Unsportsmanlike activities.
I sat in on some the meetings about these people. Long time ago.................we're not going to get into names.

I didn't name any names.

As an association of members, aren't we entitled to be informed about what is or is not happening within our membership?

If an anonymous member was told to take his/her skills elsewhere effective this year 2023, and all years after 2023, then shouldn't we be told about what that kind of activity took place that it warranted what was questioned about?

And this forum is the official source of information for our organization. But not even a denial.
I think I could get a more straight forward answer from sleepy Joe, then I have here.

Okay, I will not talk about the IHMSA activities and decisions anymore and I will just leave the IHMSA alone.
I will not bother the IHMSA anymore with my comments, fees, or participation.

You are a grumpy dude but I hope you find somewhere accepting of your pot stirring spoon. You still have more posts to delete.

If you weren't the "one that received the letter" what does it matter. That's between so called "person receiving the letter" and the board. :)] [-x

I probably should not comment, because I am not currently a dues-paying member of IHMSA. In the past, there were several instances where membership was revolked. In the very early days Skip Talbot was booted because he feuded with Elgin. Later on, in the early 80's some members in California separated themselves from IHMSA, and their membership was revolved. One person named was Ron Cottreil. Art Lavalee was kicked out because he was caught cheating. I am sure that there have been other instances of membership revocation, but the above persons WERE named and made public. Just a FYI !
