For me it is because I just got this gig a month ago and I'm probably stupider than most people, so I'm kinda slow! That's not an excuse, just reality!

Didn't Bonedaddy have this gig for a year or so? Why didn't his genius right all wrongs with the IHMSA news? I say give the new editor a chance before you dump on him. But that's just not the way some people operate.

To quote Bonedaddy: More excuses. This time from Bonedaddy. The fact is you were no more effective in getting The IHMSA news on the website in your year as editor as Joe has been in the month since this job was dumped in his lap. What makes your excuse for failure superior to others?

I told you I was slow--I'm spending a lot more than 2 hours! I must not be doing something right!

If anyone wants to take a look (keep in mind, still in practice mode here so don't want to put it on the ihmsa.org site until we know it is right), but you can access the online version if you want to see the May issue. Email me at ihmsaeditorjoe@gmail.com if you have any suggestions.

Also please keep in mind, I accepted this volunteer position 3 days after the actual deadline for the May issue, so don't judge me on this one please--I wanted IHMSA folks to not miss an issue, so I did my best to get something cranked out in a couple of days. The June issue, you can judge all you want.

To take a look, go to www.eidoconnect.com and then hit the "Publications" button towards the lower left of the screen. Then you will see "IHMSA May 2014" and that should take you there. Once again, email me any feedback, I would love to get this online for folks soon, but I want it done right before it goes out on ihmsa.org and represents all of us.

Thanks,
Joe

Joe,

The Eido PDF works well. I know the following request is not your "official" job, but can you see if the year end 2013 financial statement can be published in the June issue? It is normally in the March issue and has yet to be published.

There is no way there can be a meaningful annual meeting unless this information is made available in June.

Thanks!

Hey Steve,

I will check into that. My brother was just asking me the same thing a couple of days ago, so thank you for bringing it up--you are right, it is critical to have that info out in this June issue.

As for the PDF thing, I'm just hoping a few people try it and let me know if there are any problems with downloading it. I know it should be fine, but with some people maybe having slow connections or older computers, I just want to know if there are any of those kinds of problems with this format. I was looking into doing something which would kind of be interactive/integrated between the IHMSA News and the Forum which would have been what was going to take some work, but a quick sociology experiment has told me that this would probably be a bad idea at this time, so I'll just keep it simple at this point.

I'm already having withdrawals not making the WCC this year… best of luck with that fantastic event.

I tried to download it twice. Both times it totally locked up Firefox and never loaded more than 2 pages of the pdf file.

Thanks, that is good to know. I know there were problems like that the last time they tried to get this online, as well as formatting issues. That is why I'm wanting some guinea pigs to try this, because I'm guessing if it is as easy as it sounds to do, it would have been done by now. I appreciate your input.
