June Match Results - Ascension Silhouette

Post by high standard 40 »

We're having a very tough time this year for silhouette here in Louisiana. We had to cancel our June match for Ascension Silhouette, this time for weather related issues. Our situation as far as range access is different than most silhouette facilities. We use our local Sheriff's Office range. There are some restrictions in place, one of which requires us to "tread lightly". Recent rain has left the facility somewhat soggy. Since we have to carry in all of our targets and rails on match day and remove them when we leave, and not being able to utilize any wheeled transportation because of the soggy range, it would have made a match today very labor intensive if we had to hand carry everything. Couple with that the fact that the grass was very tall. With no way to cut said grass, we would not have been able to see the targets very well, if at all. And more rain is predicted for today. Just another day down here in "The Swamp".
