Current Job Descriptions

As provided to me by the IHMSA President:

State Directors

Duties and responsibilities.
1. Abide by the IHMSA Bylaws and Rulebook and uphold the highest standards of IHMSA competition.
2. Approve the annual schedule(s) of ranges within your state.
3. Resolve any conflicts between those ranges for championship matches.
4. Encourage ranges to hold a State Championship every year and, if possible, on a rotating basis between the ranges.
5. Promote and encourage participation in the sport of handgun silhouette within your state.
6. Provide as much assistance as possible to match directors to help encourage IHMSA participation.
7. Resolve any issues brought up by the members of your state. If unable to do so, forward those issues to your Region Director. Ensure a timely response back to the member raising the issue.
8. Actively work to help ranges start new handgun silhouette programs.
9. Attend matches at each range in your state at least once a year.
10. Write quarterly, or more frequent, status reports for the IHMSA news.
11. Communicate on a regular basis with each match director and with your Region Director.

Regional Directors

Duties and responsibilities.

2. Encourage States within your Region to hold a Regional Championship every year and, if possible, on a rotating basis between the states.
3. Resolve any conflicts between your states for Regional and State Championship matches.
4. Promote and encourage participation in the sport of handgun silhouette within your Region.
5. Provide as much assistance as possible to State and local match directors to help encourage IHMSA participation.
6. Bring to the Board any issues brought up by the members of your Region that cannot be resolved by other means. Ensure a timely resolution of the issue.
7. Actively work to help ranges start new handgun silhouette programs.
8. Try to attend a match in each state of your Region at least once a year.
9. Write quarterly, or more frequent, status reports for the IHMSA news.
10. Communicate on a regular basis with each state director.
11. Perform the duties associated with your board position and those duties assigned by the Board or by the IHMSA president.
