2022 preliminary master schedule

here is the preliminary master schedule. some of the clubs are still waiting for their clubs to approve and others I just cannot get hold of!

But this is up to date with what I have received but a lot of clubs still missing.

I don't know where the problem lies. The Anderson County schedule appears to be wrong. There may have been a change of the dates David was given and what the club approved. The original dates were as follows.
March 6
April 3
April 30 500 meter only
May 1
June 6
August 7
September 11

Greg, that is because I have not received the dates for this year for anderson County. the dates listed are for 2021!

On the "Welcome to IHMSA" main page, there is a place to click on to get the "Match Schedule". So that is where I look up coming matches. All I find is last year's preliminary schedule for 2021. So I had to go to the very bottom of the Forum's index page to dig in and find another "preliminary" schedule for 2022. As I read thru that schedule, I see dates for both 2021 & 2022.

If I were a new shooter, I would logically go to the "Match Schedule" as the primary source for dates & places, not a forum. And if I saw that it only had 2021 dates, and "preliminary" at that, I would think that IHMSA had not survived COVID and folded up.

Why are we making it so difficult and unclear for any interested new shooters to find our matches & come try our sport? Even as a competitor for a couple of years, I am not sure if "preliminary" means it is good, and I certainly don't know if "2021" dates are typographical mistakes, or old dates. Do I really need to de-cypher all this? Does a possible new competitor want to guess what is going on, or is he/she just going to forget about it and shoot something else?

First, Any 2021 Dates in the Preliminary schedule are clubs I have received no response from or State Directors are too lazy to forward the approved schedules to me. Right now, I am still missing 11 clubs match dates. It is not my Responsibility to figure out match schedules for every club in the USA and Canada!

Second, The match schedule does not get posted to the Main Page until it is completed. This is the 6th year I have done this and I have NEVER been able to complete the Master Schedule before March. This year the "Match Schedule Input form" was sent out last November and as I said, I am still missing 11 clubs and this is the start of the second week of March.

I Post the "Preliminary Master schedule" on the forums to give the shooters a heads up on the match dates and Maybe they will harass their match and State directors to send in their schedule, but it seems to be doing nothing. Any 2021 dates in the Preliminary Master schedule are clubs I have not received a response from. Also, The Preliminary Master schedule Has NEVER been posted on the Main Page.

And Now, I am going to get down and Dirty. The Next Match Director who gets Rude to me, I am going to tell them to stick there Head where the sun does not shine. I am a Volunteer and do not need the Crap from them.

I myself have been trying to get hold of the closest club to me so I can go to a Match But after 7 emails (since I do not have a phone number for him) and no response, I damn well not going to drive 3 hours to find out they have no match.

And forgot. I am still waiting for the contact info for the 2 new Region directors so I can update the website. and here is the Latest Preliminary match schedule:

Dan, most have no idea that we’re all volunteers, most work full time + jobs, and are doing our best to keep this thing a float.
Thank you very much for all you do, it doesn’t go unnoticed or unappreciated by me, and I’m pretty sure that I speak for the rest of the IHMSA board! Hats off to a never ending job well done! JR
