K&N outside neck turning tool or Sinclair International makes a neck turning tool. By turning the necks you make the brass concentric and it also improves the consitancy of the neck tension on the bullet. Both of these contribute to accuracy. Bruce

halek wrote:I took your advise and necked up some Lapua 6mm brass. What tool do you use to remove the "doughnut". Reamers such as Wilson are sized for fired brass (.003" over at .2865"). Is there a reamer for sized brass at .284"? Thx.
Ken, K&N makes a combo reamer/turning mandrel that removes the donut as you turn the brass. I have one in 6mm, but not 7mm. You are welcome to use all my neck turning equipment, would just have to get the mandrel for 7mm, assuming you have to turn necks.

The K&N and sinclair neck turning tools are good hand tools. I presently have the Hornady Lock and Load neck turning tool I will be trying as I can use this with a drill to neck turn the brass. I have 200 rounds of brass I need to neck turn I will be trying it with.
