Sold Please delete-F/S Rem XP-100 Barrel 7IHMSA INT w/Nk Die

Post by WA_SHTR+44M »

I acquired a XP barrel in 7 IHMSA International along with a Redding Neck size die and some WIN-300 Savage brass. The original stamp mark on the barrel is 7mmBR modified to the 7mm International but this is all that I know about it. I picked this up along with another barrel that is the 7BR which I needed and mounted on the action. I would like to find a home for this if someone out there would like to get this for their use. Asking $60.00 TYD - lower 48 for the package. Could be open for trades too if that's something to consider.
Thanks for looking Steve

Added some pics or can email pics to you directly too.

Steve, This barrel is actually chambered for the 7 INT-X as indicated on your die box. The -X version has less body taper so the reamer would clean up the old 7BR shoulder. The straight 7 INT has just a few thousands less body taper since their chambers were cut in fresh barrels. Just wanted you to know in case someone should ask. Most people will know the difference since you mentioned the barrel was rechambered from 7BR. This is an accurate caliber and you shouldn't have any trouble getting rid of it.

Hey Striker,
Thanks for the info on that and hopefully it can go to a fellow shooter that will know the in's and out's on this. Good tip to pass on for the next inquiry too.

I have an XP-100 that I had rechambered to 7mm 08 and shot a lot in IHMSA up in Alaska many years ago. Since I also have a Wichita in 7mm IHMSA I could use the barrel to convert my XP to the same caliber as my Wichita. Problem is I'm not sure about the 7mm Intl X thing. My dies for 7 IHMSA are for forming from 300 Savage brass as I haven't ever been able to find real 7mm IHMSA brass. Can you tell me how I might use this barrel with my current batch of 7 IHMSA brass. Perhaps that previous poster could help since it seems he knows a bit about this?

SanteFe66
You are probably right if you could get in touch with Striker. I recently sold the barrel and die and need to remove this ad, however I still have the brass if you want it for the 7IHMSA. It is the 300 savage brass and I could just send it to you if you can use it. Let me know what you decide.

SantaFe66, The brass from a 7 INT-X will just be a few thousands fatter about 1/3 the way down from the shoulder so all you would have to do is use your 7 INT FL die and size the brass to your chamber. There is even a chance the 7 INT-X brass might fit your chamber without sizing since there were slight variances in chamber dimensions. I always formed my 7 INT and 7 INT-X brass from 300 Savage. In a pinch you can also use 250 Savage or even 22-250 brass since they all belong to the same parent case. Any of the other 30-06 head size cases can also be used but you might need to get into reaming necks which is more work than I cared to do. The 7 INT and 7 INT-X cartridges are very reloader friendly and are usually very accurate with about any load you care to use. Good cast bullet cartridges too. Of course this all depends upon the firearm.
