Smallbore targets, scaled to 50'

Post by SteveJewels »

I am joining a club Saturday which has a 50' indoor range so I have a place to shoot over the winter. I would like to have some Smallbore size target which have been scaled to 50'.

Thanks!

Is the distance fixed at 50'? Can you shoot a lesser distance? If so, you should consider a quality air pistol like an IZH 46 or 46M. It's quiet, pellets are much less costly than 22's, and you can practice in your yard, garage, or in the house shooting from the living room down the hall into a pellet trap on a shelf in the linen closet (wife is required to sit on the far end of the sofa and not walk around).... Scaled silo targets for 10, 12.5, 15, & 18 yards are readily available and printed via any copy machine.

Those are NRA Smallbore Rifle targets which have been sized to 50'. Quite a bit smaller than IHMSA Smallbore. I already use these targets for rifle.

The target hangers at the indoor range are at 50'. I would not be able to shoot at air distances.

I found a place selling NRA Pistol Silhouette targets scaled to 50'.

Smallbore Pistol uses one-half size chicken targets and three-eighths size
pig, turkey and ram targets. Guess that will have to do.

Might be better than you think. The NRA Chicken is half scale but its at 40 meter so the scale might be close to 3/8 at 25 equivalent.
