44 Mag Question

Post by kerdunk »

I’m about to load my first round of 44 mag. I have Hornady 240 gr XTP bullets and Accurate No 9 powder. I read a previous post that 19.2 gr would be a good load. Would anyone like to chime in? The application is BB Revolver class. Many thanks for any and all feedback.

Tim, i found a starting load of 17.8 gr and max load of 19.8 of AA9 with the 240 gr bullet so you should be in theballpark.

Thanks Jim! I imagine taking down the Ram while managing recoil is the key.

19.2 Grains of No 9 with the 240 Gr XTP was my load in my FA 44 back in the day. Shot a couple 40's with it. Very, Very accurate. Allen

Awesome. Do you by chance recall how many clicks up for each distance on your FA?
