We had a discussion at the NRA Hunter Pistol Championships about cross advertising large matches. The specific discussion was about junior shooters and cross promoting NRA, IHMSA and 4-H events.
I was told by the junior shooters that F ace book would not allow firearm or shooting postings. And when they did post something that FaceBook took it down.

I am not on Facebook and do not have an account, this is merely a reporting of a discussion at a competitors meeting in Raton, N.M.

They tried that for a bit, but they got a bunch of flack about it (along with some sponsors threatening to pull out) they changed. Now NRA, IMSSU, Powder Valley and a bunch of Mfr's and LGS's have Facebook pages.

I'm not much of a Facebook person and seldom go there...........but I did check out the new IHMSA page. Many thanks to those posting so far. I do have a suggestion. In the interest of attracting the average shooter to our sport, someone should post some photos of what I'll call "crossover guns". Some pictures of guns that can be used for IHMSA that are not full custom or tricked out. The images of guns so far is great, but in my opinion should be mixed with some "crossover" guns.

Feel free to repost these images there. I've never been on Facebook, and don't even own a computer!:

Thumbnail of same image at larger size (which gets cropped on this site);

S&W 686-6 basically stock except for the optics.

Image
Old .22lr 617.

And a 6" S&W 29-5. All from a rainy day match last year.

The 617 is certainly "crossover" as it's also a favorite squirrel hunting firearm!
