Muzzle Brake for Flop Contender

Need some opinions - I have a Super "14" Contender in 6.5 TCU sitting in my closet, and have been thinking about playing with it in the "flop" position. What muzzle brake would you fellows recommend. Also, could you recommend someone to install it. Looking for the most effective brake for rifle scope use - THANKS !

Great caliber for flop position and rifle scope. The best and most efficient brake available is the JP Howitzer type brake. I have one installed on a XP-100 in 30-221,with rifle scope for UAS and 1/2 scale. Shooting a 168 gr. bullet around 1800 fps without any recoil issues. The Ross brake definitely is a effective and well built brake. He has installed three units on my silhouette guns to date. The first was on a 14" 223 MGM barrel in which I shot 1/2 scale. The fit and workmanship could have not been better. I was very pleased with turn around time as well. The present gun I shoot in US-BB is also a 30-221 XP-100 in which he installed. Once again excellent fit and finish. It definitely works for this caliber on my reduced standing loads. Problem is the last time I spoke to him he purchased a new lathe that couldn't accept the Contender barrel lug. I suppose you could purchase his manufactured brake and have it installed elsewhere. His prices are also very reasonable. Highly recommend Ross Schuler.

The JP is by far the most effective brake especially for a light gun such as a Contender in the flop position. Noisy...yes that is why I shoot a 30-221. It has much less report and side blast. The 6.5 TCU doesn't have to be loaded to max to knock down our targets.
6MM is definitely a maximum load silhouette gun.

Thanks Jerry - I have pretty much decided on the JP. I guess I have the ability to "zone out" while shooting - being next to a brake shooter has never bothered me. And, as you said - the TC is fairly light, so I need minimum recoil. Thanks for the input !
