Target Sizes

Post by borregos »

Is there a link to where I can get actual target sizes.
Under "resources" it shows a jpeg but no sizes.
I don't have autocad.
I seem to remember targets on a 1" grid pattern.

Thanks in advance.

I remember the 1" grid templates from many years ago but don't specifically remember the source. I have all of the targets of every scale drawn up in Photoshop and can provide the sizes for you......or the files in whatever image format you need.

I have always had issue with the target templates available on the IHMSA website referred to by Hosspower. The shape is all wrong when compared to what I have seen at matches all over this country, even at the Internationals. Look at this image to see what I am saying.

The chicken on the left is from the IHMSA website and the chicken on the right is what it should look like. The other 3 animals show similar anomalies.

high standard 40,
Where did you get your target shapes from? I have been using the IHMSA page shapes to make pull rope reset targets.

If I'm using the wrong shape I would like to fix it before I start burning them out.

If anyone has DXF format files of the 'correct' shapes I could use them.

Thanks

I can't help with the CAD files. I got my templates from the original "One inch grid" templates referred to in the OP's post back in about 1980. The old IHMSA website had templates in JPEG and another format..... I think BMP. Anyway, the JPEG has always been like it is now but the other format showed a target like the one I have.

The CAD files from the link above seem to be correct.

I sent an email to Carl@IHMSA.org about this. Hopefully it is still a good address.

I have target shapes in PDF form that could be added to the targets page.

here is a copy of the originals issued in the Late 70's and 80's.

only problem I have with them is the pig and turkey were not straight when they were copied.
