What the heck did you do?

Post by Shoot2Thrill »

The topic title says it all. This was probably an utterance from my father looking down on me. Lord knows that I heard it many times growing up. I take that back. He probably said, "Do what's right and don't take any bs." My father was the late Dave Edney (#1815), and I am Doug Edney. Recently, I was elected by the board to finish the term of Vice President. I chose to do this (with my wife's blessing) because I want to help. My father often reflected on the glory days of IHMSA at Jackson Center, PA in the late 70s and early 80s. He loved all of it - reloading, ringing targets, telling jokes, shooting a good score, wondering why they shot in 20 degrees, building guns, and traveling. I bet you could all agree with a few of those and so do I. In my very brief experience with IHMSA, I understand there are some concerns from members and that includes me. At the same time, we all still enjoy hearing that clang and watching that target fall. Please send questions or concerns to me through private message or email douglasedney@yahoo.com until I am set up through headquarters.

Thanks for taking the job, Doug. My usual internal thought process is : Are you completely out of your little mind ? You really must have rocks in your head. It is raining and I'm out in it-----what does that tell you ? rp
I have served as assistant match director, Southern Silhouette club, 1980s. Also, the Griffin Gun Club for Silhouette during the 1990s, to about 2005. For a short period I authored the ''Cast Bullet'' section of The IHMSA News. Joined IHMSA March 1979.

Doug,
I can't think of a better person from our region to hold that position. You will always have the support of Region 3 shooters.

Thanks for stepping up. Don't let this job (yes it can be a job) keep you from enjoying your hobby. You may get many complaints (there will be more of those than compliments). Hope to see you at the range this year.

Thanks Doug. We need your age group for the future as so many members are aging out.
