Latest Rules Posting?

Post by Mt-Sil »

I have been out of this game for ten years and recently had my interest stirred by steelerman & jimologist. This web site has a set of rules posted which are dated 2016. The title indicated that there may have been a "2018a" revision. A post on this Rules category talks about the .300 Whisper being legal for Field Pistol but I did not find that in the rules posted on this web site. Are the posted rules correct and the most current?

Regarding the 300 Whisper & Field Pistol, the rule was added but with the caveat regarding target damage which is the match director discretion. You should check with local match directors before committing to that caliber for FP. The 30-20 & 30 carbine work very well, the 22 Hornet is the most popular.

We are working on a revised and updated rule book. The updates will be discussed in Oklahoma then shared with the membership for final review.

Just to clarify,

The last printing of the rule book (paper copies) was in 2016. The online edition includes all rule changes through 2018. Due to a change of personnel, the 2019 rule changes did not get added.

The paper copies of the rule book does not include any rule changes since it last got printed. More than likely a new 2021 rule book will get printed and it would include all rule changes.

When a rule change gets approved, it gets posted here and in the Newsletter. It keeps getting posted until it is added to the rule book. The rule on the use of the 300 Whisper for field pistol was approved in 2019 and it is valid.
