Howdy all from Oklahoma,

I would like to get into metallic handgun silhouette shooting. I have looked the rule book and am really confused. I need some help.

I have a Thompson/Center G2 Contender with a 12" .22 long rifle barrel. I have a red dot sight on it to help with my eyesight issues (OLD).
With that equipment, in what areas can I compete? I can get an optical scope if the red dot isn't legal.

I reload for .30-06, Winchester 32 Special, .223, British .303, .38 Special, .35 Magnum, 9mm, .308 Winchester, .45 ACP, and .30 Carbine.

Out of the above calibers, are there any that would work for Field Pistol and Big Bore?

Also, I would rather not shoot iron sights. What are the scope limitations as far as power that would work for Field Pistol and Big Bore.

I know this is asking a lot, but the more I try to read and keep notes, the more confused I get.
