I've been using 110 and 125 grain bullets with my 26 grains of IMR4895. Jacketed bullets that I make myself(Sierra Jackets and J-4 jackets). Both work very well.

The Wichita intl pistol can be a hand full!! I have one in 357SM and nobody will even take me up on my offer to shoot it! I think I have some load data for the 7R, but cannot look till I get back home in a couple of days

If its 7mm int-r info that will help, not sure what 7r is. It is a handful, but not nearly as bad as the savage stiker pistol i had in 308, i sold it and bought a remington XP-100 in 221 FB, much more pleasant to shot.

7R is a shorter name for the 7mm intl R. The 7R is also almost the same as the 7-30 waters.

I called Hornady and Hodgdon this morning. I was told i can use trail boss loaded to the bottom of the bullet minus 30% for mins or H4895 loaded to 30% less than maximum load.

Trail Boss is a great powder for reduced loads. It might be too light if you are going to shoot silhouettes since you will have greatly reduced velocity but will be more pleasant to shoot.
Simple load technique for using Trail Boss. Load case to where base of bullet will be. This is your 100% load. Start at 70% of the load for a starting load and work up.
Even if you filled a case to the top you just can't get enough TB in a case to run into dangerous pressures.

I think i will try both, i have some TB will be picking up some h4895 tomorrow. I also installed a hogue grip, it feels like it will be more easy to handle the muzzle rise with this grip.

Any idea why recoil is so much worse than Contender? Is the bore that much higher than grip/trigger that provides added leverage?

on a wichita, the easiest way to explain it is this: Take a 1911 frame and stick A Rifle Cartridge in it. It has the same grip as a 1911, so it Bites your hand Real well!
