Jerry Barlett designed the ISGW sight. He is also the designer of the BF pistol.

Jerry did do a lot of Re-barrelling of XP's but that was a long time ago. there were a lot of gunsmiths that did not mark caliber on their barrels But I do know it was not Mike Dewey. mike has always marked his guns. a couple I know of were Jerry Barlett and Ron Cottrell.

I checked a little history and Know of at least 5 ex members who lived in Simi valley. I do know that is an H&S precison stock!

Guys, Got the XP today and believe me the picture does not do it justice.
All stainless and blue parts are highly polished.
It is one of the older H-S stocks with the larger grip. Feels great.
It also is a true 270 BR. Just the 7mm brass necked down to .277.
Got 163 once fired brass and about 70 new BR cases.
I'm going to throw in some of my wimp loads under 130 grain bullets for first three animals and then some 140s for rams.
Will use my laser bore sighter that should at least get me on chickens and will go from there.
Our last match of the year is this Saturday and I can't wail another year to try it out.
It has a light reworked Remy trigger so will leave that alone.
Got a real winner here.

It is at my dealer now and I will pick it up soon. There is a bunch of fired BR brass and also new BR brass so that should give me a clue.
Two Neil Jones dies with the gun are marked 7 BR then have extra info about 270 so will just have to see what I have.
I'm hoping it is a 7 BR necked down to 277. That would be the easiest to work with.

I remember back in the 80’s,Steve Riddle said he was going to do a 270 XP.He said he had went to Sierra & looked at what they had the most in their seconds,and they were 277.I never heard if he did?

Don’t think Steve did the 270BR, but I know he built a 25BR. One of our GA shooters has it.

Whoever built this gun must have been a genius at working XP triggers. Breaks safely at 8 ounces. Looks to be stock trigger. I didn't think a stock XP trigger would go that low. Got to fire 10 sighter rounds yesterday so should at least be able to hit some chickens Saturday.
If this gun is somehow associated with Steve, that would be great.
Keep on jogging those memory cells for more info.
