It looks good! What caliber and what’s the finish on it?

I had one just like that several years ago. It would shoot 1" groups at 100 meters with my load. Recoil was a little too much for me. wheelgun7360

that is a Nice gun and in very good condition!

and I will give you a hint.. The DW 44Mags love the 'Family Load' which is:

Sierra 240gr JHC bullet
23.5grs of H110
Magnum pistol primer
Heavy crimp.

and yes, it recoils a lot! but I have taken down Rams at 500 Meters with this load :D :D

There you go looks like H110 is your go to load. I know you’ve got some of that!

Thanks for the load info. I happen to have a little H110 lying around. I've been debating lead vs jacketed. Either way this revolver should be a lot of fun in big bore.

The RCBS .44 Silhouette mold bullet is probably the most accurate cast bullet I've ever shot through my Ruger Super Blackhawk. It is copied after the Speer plated bullet that was so successful in IHMSA matches back in the 80's and 90's. I use wheel weights for casting material, and they drop out of my mold at 255 grains, lubed & gas checked. In front of my load of 2400 powder, they have a muzzle velocity of over 1400 fps out of the Rugers 10.5" barrel. Very accurate.

Some of the DW 44's shot cast well - others did not ! My brother Charlie has a 44-VH8 that shoots like a laser with jacketed, but with cast - YUCK ! He tried everything, different styles, alloy, lube, voodoo - EVERYTHING ! He finally gave up ! Good luck !
