You never know what to expect weather wise on our first match of the year in Oklahoma. Couple of weeks ago we had snow & temperatures 14 degrees below zero. However, for this match, in the mid 60’s, so that was a good thing, a bit windy with gusts up to 35 mph. Despite the wind problem we still had 54 entries,& 15 perfect 40x40’s..
Those figuring out the wind were, Jack Tessman 2, Debbie Tessman 1, Bill Focht 1, Roy Focht 3, Woody Liddell 1, Ronnie Wolfe 3, Jackie Brown 1, Jim Myers 1, John Blue 1 & Larry Curts 1; congrats everyone, great shooting.
Roy Roberts who shot with us for several years & hasn’t shot since 2011 is now back, this was his first match & he turned in four very nice scores, the best was a 38x40 in 1/5 scale with a new Anschutz, great shooting Roy, & welcome back.
Thanks go to Debbie Tessman for our noon lunch & everything that she does for us, don’t know what we would do without her. Thanks to our target painters also.
Reminder, our state IHMSA match is a four-day match, June 3rd-4th-5th & 6th . Out of stater shooters are welcome. It will be reduced from a 60-round match to a 40-round match due to the current ammo shortage.
We also are hosting the IHMSA World Championships for the eighth time here at OKCGC July the 16th thru the 24th. Make that one for sure.
