I would like to announce that I will be hosting an additional monthly Smallbore and Fifth Scale match in Louisiana at a new location in the northern part of our state. Saline Creek Silhouette will offer a limited schedule for 2015 and is located in Goldonna, LA. We will shoot on the third weekend of the month starting in March and continuing through June. The facility I have available is a very basic configuration with only one bank of targets at each distance which will be in yards in an effort to duplicate our Gonzales facility which is also in yards. I will initially offer this as a two day event to accommodate the most people possible. I have had some people request a Saturday match and others prefer Sunday. Since I am now retired and have the time, I will try the two day event which may also have the added benefit of a slower pace for myself by spreading the work load over two days. I plan to have a covered firing line and shooting platforms.

I am continuing my effort to acquire a new larger facility near this area of the state so that we can again begin to offer Big Bore matches in Louisiana. The search continues and I will provide updates as information becomes available.

Looking good. That white background really makes the targets pop out.

Thanks guys. The white plates behind the targets was really a must. Being under a heavy tree canopy means varying areas of shade and sun which change all day long. Without the plates, sometimes you see the targets and sometimes they disappear. I tried various color combinations and observed at all hours of the day. This system was the clear choice for this location.

I don't know if I could shoot there. It looks so peaceful and serene I would probably want to take a nap but the noise from the shooting would probably keep me awake. We had a small 22/FP range like that here in OH, but no trees, and it was a fun place to shoot. A one man operation though so it didn't last very long. Too bad these small ranges don't get their just desserts. Hope this one goes. It looks great. I know HS will do his best.
