Re: What confuses you in the rules?

While here in OH and east of the Mississippi we make think of hunting handguns suitable for deer or feral hogs but out west for prairie dogs the unlimited guns with huge scopes are probably popular. Re: Postal Match 1 - RESULTS

Good results. I see Rich even chokes in Unlimited BB at a postal match. I knew we had Larry the Ram here in OH that always ruined a good score. Must be one of his cousins in IN that got Rich.

Re: What confuses you in the rules?

Jackie, My reasoning for dropping the 6X limit is many/some people who actually hunt with handguns may have scopes larger than 6X and use the higher magnification while hunting. In some respects I wish IHMSA had adopted an "Open" category for long course, short course and 22. If we truly m...

Jackie, You almost have it. Change 2 to read "Optics are allowed".

Re: What confuses you in the rules?

If PH guns are considered the same as UAS then we need to drop the 6X restrictions on scopes. Many of our local UAS shooters use Leupold 2.5-8X scopes set on 8X (me too). This type of nit-picking is what is confusing especially in PH. People who use handguns to hunt with are not looking for limitati...

Re: Practical Hunter Rules Proposal

I think this discussion has gotten away from the original suggestion. Just let the dot sights and maybe 1.5X optics in the Production and Revolver categories. Don't need new categories. Just go back to Jim's original suggestion. Do we want to make rules more simple or more complicated????? Pretty so...

Re: Practical Hunter Rules Proposal

I think the early days of IHMSA were strictly about being competitive. We had trophies and even payback when winning classes. Lots of shooters shot just to win. Now IHMSA has become a shoot for fun type of match. Do shooters need to win every time they shoot and is it important to beat everyone else...
