Re: "Flop" stocks, Shooting Aids, and Rule Enforcement

Some of the forestocks that won't make the depth requirement. The rainbow forestock is actually better for Unlimited Standing, a different approach to the high rise scope mount: https://i.imgur.com/0prKiMW.jpg https://i.imgur.com/tcYenan.jpg Not even this wee Magpul grip makes the depth requirement:...

Re: Unlimited Guns & Stock Configuration

I could live with a "fits the box and makes weight" rule without all the micro managing of configurations. It would be not unlike IDPA, etc., except scaled up. Given that Free Pistols have been allowed for a long time with their invariably custom contoured grips, not allowing tweaks to for...

Re: "Flop" stocks, Shooting Aids, and Rule Enforcement

I am fully in agreement with this letter. If there's anything less "traditional" or more of a "shooting aid", than a super high rise scope base (i.e., a Ken Light rail) then I don't know what it is. Except maybe for using a bolt action.... I should think the idea of "Unlimit...

Re: 256 Winchester Mag

Negative to both.
I'd like to try my S&W .22 Jet just for giggles. Not nearly as accurate as a TC!
Oddly, 25-20 is allowed, and, of course, .22 Hornet and ".32-20" (AKA .30-20 for BF users.)

Re: What kind of power is too much power for FP targets?

Our ranges have had some targets lose welded on feet and one chicken that lost it's head due to a "fatigue" crack, but I can't recall any that failed due to a single shot. They've held up to everything from .22 Hornet to lots of .44 Magnums. (Of varying loads from soft lead to hefty factor...

Re: Anschutz Exemplar Front Sight Hole Spacing

Here it is: "Front sight screw size for Anschutz Exemplar?" Link below: http://www.ihmsa.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=3519 Spacing 16mm. Hole sizes, etc. discussed in thread above. You just need a long base with a reasonable radius/v-flats on the bottom. I used a couple from my spare ...

Re: Anschutz Exemplar Front Sight Hole Spacing

I modified a base (ETA: Actually two, over a period of time, or three?) a while back. Will see if I can find the old post, but it may have more to do with the thread size...

Re: Calibers for UAS/HS

FWIW, I managed a 60x60 UAS last match using a 1-7 twist .223 Wylde Green Mountain barrel slapped onto the front of a manually operated AR kluge pistol. 88gr Hornady ELDs worked fine on both free standing and hinged Rams. That included some pretty low body hits, as my usual zero wasn't spot on! I th...
