Re: JTAC, Mini Howa Pistol

The grip needs to be almost horizontal, which may pose problems with trigger reach and finger comfort. If I ever get a round tuit, I'd like to cobble such a AR style grip just to test the theory. Other things going on just now though. I bought something like this for my Ruger Charger (AR-15 grip) f...

Grumpy rambling, barrel swap variety

Having found that .223 with 88gr bullets will do to take Rams in UAS and usually in Unlimited (14-15" barrel length, 1-7" twist) at the local range (if well placed) it's annoying to find that there's no "cheap, good and fast" barrel option for bolt action pistols. Contemplating s...

Re: JTAC, Mini Howa Pistol

I have never shot in the "flop" position so I am unfamiliar with the typical pistol setup used to compete from this position. Is it possible to use this pistol (or any other pistol) shooting a reliable sized cartridge to knock over big bore targets from the the "flop" position, ...

Re: new UAS, UASHS Big Bore gun

The proposed rule change that complicates life with a tall bore axis from the ground would be the 2 1/2" maximum distance from bore centerline to the bottom of the forestock. I may have to retire my manually operated AR kluges for no other reason. Unless I can figure out a good way to go "...

Re: Clint Johnson-----UAS 40

It just was his day to make 40. Congratulations! :ymparty:
Glad he had it all to himself, although LisaG and I were beating ourselves up over our 39s. b-(

Reverse animal count tiebreaker

This rule has never made sense to me.
Say two people have a 39. One missed a Pig, the other a Turkey. (Or some variation thereof.)
Seems to me it penalizes the shooter that went longer without missing.

What's the rationale?

Re: "Flop" stocks, Shooting Aids, and Rule Enforcement

Please post some pictures of how you shoot the "gansta" Anschutz !! :D Here you go: The debut of the "GangstAnshutz". Got a little heavy on the trigger on a Turkey, so only 39/40 UAS. https://i.imgur.com/cXtcor4.jpg https://i.imgur.com/EQEiaDB.jpg Took a few shots to get dialed ...

Re: Anschutz Trigger Worth

Last one i bought (from Smokin7mm, IIRC) was about $80. My newest Exemplar (out of the last run they did) has one of those "improved" triggers which I don't like as much due to the shape of the adjustable length of pull trigger. If you care to sell this one, I'd jump right quick at $100. M...

Re: "Flop" stocks, Shooting Aids, and Rule Enforcement

Please post some pictures of how you shoot the "gansta" Anschutz !! :D As a lefty, it seems quite viable. If i was right handed, I'd have set it on a 64P. But if it's pictures you want, then the next time somebody is with me at the range, OK! Fired one sighter shot out of it so far after ...
