The Afternoon Entertainment
This month we congratulate Lisa Godwin and Clint Johnson. Both posted 40 in UAS at Cherokee Gun Club; Gainesville, GA. (Clint---Welcome to Intl). They provided the entertainment via 1/5 scale pigs at the Ram line. Each shot at 10. Lisa snagged 7 while Clint managed 1. I'm sure we will see these two ...

Clint Johnson-----UAS 40
My partner, Clint Johnson, posted his first UAS 40 at Cherokee G C, Gainesville, GA. 05 June 2021. Clint has knocked on the door with 37s and 38s. He has also posted 59 of 60. This time he cruised through the course. Well Done ! Using TC 10'' Match; Bushnell 2-6x; Aguila SE ammo. Earlier I neglected...

The Lyman mag 20 died
After many years of good and faithful service the Mag 20 suffered a fatal open element. The nice folks at Lyman offered a nice discount on their current offering, the Mag 25. Still at retail rates that is or exceeds 200$. I've investigated buying a replacement element but they go at about 150$. I do...

Re: .221 Fireball on 1/2 Scale?
Rich H. In the 10'' .223 I am trying 10gr 4759. I know, it can be tough to find. As this does not occupy a lot of volume in the 223 case there is need for caution. I believe positioning the charge against the primer wont get you into trouble. Having the charge lay spread out may invite a flash over ...

Re: .221 Fireball on 1/2 Scale?
Several years ago I had both a TC 10'' in .221 and an xp in .221. The TC worked well but didnt care for 55gr bullets. 50gr performed well. I dont recall losing targets. The XP was great fun but also didnt care for 55s. After using it in Oklahoma and losing several of their rams, I let it go. Since t...

Re: 10 '' TC 223. Powder for less noise
Thank you. That is most helpful. I found a 4759 listing in a Speer manual as well. I tried 10gr and it shot nicely at 25yd. Soon I'll move it to 50yd. I also had a good result with 12gr 4227 at 25yd and will increase to 13gr and give it a try at 50yd. (Presently I'm using a 14x scope). rp

10 '' TC 223. Powder for less noise
Hi Friends. I want to hear any recommendations for a powder that, 1) Wont cause as much noise and, 2) allows MV of about 2100 fps. For use as a Half scale entry. I have 4227, 4198, 4895, 4759, 5744, and some Varget. In searching reduced loads Blue Dot is mentioned----having due respect for its charg...
